Weymouth Golf Club has announce the completion of a major extension to its buggy and trolley path network, enhancing accessibility and year-round play for members and visitors alike.

New paths have been installed across six additional holes — nine, 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18 — building on the existing network that covers holes one through eight.

This expansion now provides continuous access over 14 holes for golfers who rely on buggies or trolleys, significantly improving the playing experience during wetter months and for those with mobility needs.

Graham Vile, course director at Weymouth Golf Club, said: “We believe this development will benefit a substantial portion of our membership, both men and ladies, as well as winter visitors and members of the local community who may be considering taking up our beloved sport.”

The total length of the new and improved path network stretches to 1,950 metres and 1,380 tonnes of stone material was used during the work.

It took nine weeks for the work to be completed by the club’s green team and clubhouse staff., led by head greenkeeper Rob Mabb.

Looking ahead, the golf club plans to complete the path network by adding routes across holes 10 to 13 next year.

Once finished, the club will become the first golf course in the area to offer a fully connected path system across all 18 holes — ensuring full buggy and trolley access throughout the year.

Thclu also said that the initiative reflects the its ongoing commitment to inclusivity, innovation, and enhancing the golfing experience for all.
