A cordon remains in place at the scene
Emergency services at the scene on Manley Road, Huyton
A 19-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital after being shot in the leg and back in Huyton on Friday evening. Emergency services were called to Manley Road at around 8.50pm on November 7 following reports a man had sustained gunshot injuries outside an address on the street.
The victim was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition. A police cordon is currently in place on Manley Road while officers carry out house-to-house enquiries and review CCTV footage.
Detectives are also appealing for witnesses and any dashcam footage from the area around the time of the incident.
Chief Inspector Andy Hughes said: “We are still in the very early stages of an investigation and we are determined to find the person or people responsible.

“A young man is currently in hospital with significant injuries and I’m sure the community will be utterly appalled at what has happened this evening.
“I want to reassure local residents in the area, as well as the wider Merseyside, that we are taking this incident extremely seriously and we are relentless in our pursuit of those involved in gun crime.
“This is a residential area and there will be people who may have witnessed the incident, and I urge those people to tell us what you know.
“Also, if you have CCTV or dashcam footage, please let us know if you captured anything. Even the smallest of details could prove vital in our investigation.
“Information from the public is vital if we are to breakdown the organised crime groups and I would appeal to anyone who has information to come forward as a matter of urgency.”
