EXCLUSIVE: Lucas Bravo (Emily In Paris) has been set to star opposite Emma Roberts (We’re the Millers) in rom-com A Murder Uncorked with Ari Sandel (When We First Met) directing and Vincent Newman (We’re the Millers) producing from a script by Legally Blonde and The Ugly Truth screenwriter Karen McCullah.

Bravo will play “the handsome Derek, who has recently inherited a prestigious Napa Valley winery and meets Nikki, a recently fired TV actress working as a waitress in a restaurant he is dining at. With sparks immediately flying, Derek offers Nikki a dream job working at the winery. But when a murder rocks the winery, the police suspect Derek and it is up to he and Nikki to find the real murderer and keep their budding romance alive.”

Pic was written by McCullah, based on the seven-book murder mystery romance series by author Michele Scott.

Production is due to start in 2026. Newman is producing with Contentious Media financing. Luminosity Pictures is handling international sales and will continue dealmaking at the AFM next week.

This is fertile rom-com territory with Bravo best known for playing Gabriel in Netflix’s hit series Emily In Paris and Roberts having starred in movies such as Holidate and Maybe I Do.

Bravo has recently starred in the George Clooney, Julia Roberts rom-com A Ticket to Paradise and next up will star in HBO Max series The Seduction, the prequel drama to Dangerous Liaisons. Upcoming, McCullah has The Last Resort with Daisy Ridley and Alden Ehrenreich.

Bravo is represented by WME, Anonymous Content & Yorn, Levine.
