Frank and Percy, the upcoming drama with a stacked cast, has dropped its first look, giving fans an adorable glimpse at Endeavour star Roger Allam and The Lord of the Rings star Sir Ian McKellen in their new roles as two men who meet while walking their dogs.

Written by Martin Sherman and directed by Sean Mathias, the upcoming film is based on the West End play of the same name by Ben Weatherill.

McKellen will star as Percy while Allam plays Frank, having both appeared as the characters during the play’s 2023 run in London, on which Mathias also served as director.

What to Read Next

Per the synopsis: “The story follows two older men who meet while walking their dogs on Hampstead Heath. What begins as casual conversation about the weather and aching hips gradually deepens into an unexpected friendship – and perhaps something more.

“Wryly funny and poignantly tender, Frank and Percy is a heartfelt, life-affirming tale about the courage to take a chance on love at any age.”
