Two huge 80s music legends are heading to the North Yorkshire coast next summer.
Madness are set to turn Scarborough Open Air Theatre into the ultimate ‘House of Fun’ on Saturday 6 June, with beloved pop star Rick Astley headlining the day before on Friday 5 June.
Tickets for both shows will go on sale this Friday (14 November) at 10am via Ticketmaster.
Rick last played Scarborough Open Air Theatre in 2024 and will return in 2026 following his Reflection arena tour.
Rick Astley leapt to fame in 1987 with the era-defining smash single Never Gonna Give You Up, followed by hits including Together Forever and Whenever You Need Somebody.
He stepped away from the spotlight, returning to attention in 2016 as he celebrated his half century back on the top of the charts with album 50. Since then he’s had show-stealing sets at Glastonbury and a number two chart position for 2023 album Are We There Yet? – contributing to more than 40million record sales worldwide.
It’s a welcome return for the much-loved Nutty Boys to Yorkshire, following unforgettable appearances at the Open Air Theatre in 2017, 2019 and 2024.
The announcement comes as Madness prepare to celebrate an extraordinary milestone — 50 years since they first burst onto the UK music scene in 1976. From Our House and It Must Be Love to Baggy Trousers, House of Fun and One Step Beyond, Madness have delivered some of the most recognisable songs in pop history.Â
As they prepare to mark five decades of glorious mayhem in 2026, their live shows remain the gold standard: joyful, unpredictable, and packed with wall-to-wall hits. Their two headline shows in Yorkshire promise nothing less than a full-blown celebration from one of Britain’s most iconic acts.
Rick Astley and Madness joins Skunk Anansie and Garbage, James Taylor, Deacon Blue, Alex James’ Britpop Classical, Paul Weller, James Arthur, Billy Ocean, Pete Tong’s Ibiza Classics, David Gray and American vocal powerhouse Teddy Swims among the headline announcements revealed so far for Scarborough Open Air Theatre 2026.
