Manor Walks Shopping & Leisure in Cramlington will continue to host NHS services for another 15 years, following a renewed commitment from the Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The health centre has operated from the site since January 2015, delivering outpatient and specialist clinical care to residents in Cramlington, Blyth and the wider area.
Services at the centre include audiology, chemotherapy and ear, nose and throat (ENT) clinics, supported by testing and screening facilities.
Lee Farrier, head of commercial and workspace at Advance Northumberland, said: “We are delighted that the NHS has chosen to make a long-term commitment to Manor Walks.
“The renewal reinforces the centre’s position at the heart of the community and reflects the strength of our relationship with key public sector partners.
“Having accessible, high-quality healthcare on site benefits both residents and the wider Northumberland area.”
The centre is staffed by clinical teams from Newcastle Hospitals, offering the same standard of care as the trust’s hospital sites.
The new agreement represents one of the most significant long-term lease renewals within the centre.
John Peart of Barker Proudlove, acting on behalf of Advance Northumberland, said: “Securing a 15-year lease renewal with such a high-profile occupier is a strong endorsement of Manor Walks as a sustainable, mixed-use location.
“The NHS has been a valued tenant for a decade, and this agreement demonstrates confidence in both the scheme and the local economy.
“We continue to see strong demand from a range of occupiers who recognise the benefits of being located at Cramlington.”
The agreement reaffirms Manor Walks’ ongoing strategy to deliver a sustainable mix of retail, leisure and essential community services.
The renewal highlights the value of bringing vital healthcare services closer to where people live and work.
Manor Walks serves as a community hub for Cramlington and the wider Northumberland area.
