Meghan Markle has been torn apart on US television after fresh drama erupted over Kris Jenner’s star-packed 70th birthday bash. What should’ve been a slick Hollywood night out for the Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry has instead blown up into a new storm — complete with deleted Kardashian photos, claims the couple fled in horror, and a blistering takedown from Real Housewives alum Bethenny Frankel. And with insiders insisting the Sussexes walked straight into “full-on Kardashian chaos”, the fallout is raising fresh questions over Meghan’s public image and why this party has triggered such a reaction.
The row exploded after Kris and Kim Kardashian posted, then deleted, photos of the Sussexes from their Instagram birthday “photo dumps”, leaving fans questioning what happened inside Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s James Bond–themed celebration at their Beverly Hills mansion. Now US commentators are weighing in — loudly. Bethenny Frankel didn’t hold back during an appearance on The Toast. The former Real Housewives star said: “Lauren Sanchez is Meghan Markle without the rules. Honey badger don’t give a f**k.
“She doesn’t have to answer to anyone. She can do what she wants. She can have her tits out. She can donate money how they want. Meghan is trying to be so many different things.
“And I just don’t think that she herself is fully aware of who she is. It’s very difficult to be front and centre at the Kardashian 70th party and then also be many of the things she wants to be.”
Her comments lit up social media, where some viewers echoed the sentiment. One fan posted on X: “Meghan kills me. Uploading pregnant tweaking videos one minute then pretending she’s too important and royal to be photographed the next.”
Behind the scenes, claims about what unfolded at the party have only fuelled the drama. A source told journalist Rob Shuter that Meghan and Harry were “horrified” by the cameras that filled the mansion from the moment they stepped inside.
According to the insider, it was the couple’s “worst nightmare come true”.
“They thought it was going to be an elegant, private evening — instead, it was full-on Kardashian chaos. Cameras everywhere, boom mics in the chandeliers, drones outside the mansion,” the source said.
The source also claimed footage was being shot for The Kardashians, adding: “There were at least three professional camera crew rolling all night.
“Even the security team had GoPros. Meghan looked mortified. Harry tried to laugh it off, but you could tell he wanted out.”
The couple reportedly slipped away before midnight — leaving just ahead of a surprise Bruno Mars performance. “They came to network and got reality TV,” the insider said.
Earlier in the evening, the Sussexes were photographed arriving hand-in-hand and smiling. But the atmosphere inside the party, and the camera crews circling the room, wasn’t what they expected.
Kris’s decision to post and then delete images of the pair only deepened the mystery around their exit.
