Nick Mohammed, the seemingly ever-faithful ally, stunned Joe Marler at Twickenham — and the betrayal went far deeper on Celebrity Traitors. Having built a strong alliance with the rugby prop throughout the series, Nick used the final roundtable to vote Joe out, paving the way for traitor Alan Carr’s unexpected win.

Nick later revealed he’d been suspicious of Joe long before the finale. He said he was put off when Joe said, “I just want it to be us two in the final,” and was especially wary when Joe apologised to Cat Burns during a previous vote.
The moment hit Marler hard. He said he was “heartbroken” — he believed they were on the same page all the way, and was surprised Nick “didn’t stick to my plan … he went with his gut.” Still, Marler insisted he harboured no ill will — he even admitted he was “so in love” with Nick, citing Nick’s cute gestures: a dicky bow, little hearts next to his name.
On the show’s recap, commentators noted a tense undercurrent: though Nick had appeared trusting of Joe, he’d quietly coaxed David Olusoga into doubting Joe’s loyalty. In the final round, all three — Nick, Alan, and David — voted to banish Joe. Afterwards, Nick turned his pouch in to end the game, allowing Alan Carr (a traitor) to claim victory.
In the aftermath, Nick publicly apologised to Joe, calling the move “disastrous” and admitting he made the call based on gut instincts and deep-seated suspicion.
