Jamie Van Wyk, who is a member at the illustrious Royal Lytham and St Annes Golf Club, has been called up to the seven-man squad by England Golf.

The selection by the amateur game’s governing body follows a run of great results this year for Jamie, 24, who plays off a +5.4 handicap.

He won the 2025 Welsh Men’s Open Stroke Play Championship held at Conwy Golf Club in April with a score of 10-under par, two shots clear of second place.

He was also a key player for England in the 2025 R&A Home Internationals in August at Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire, as England took home the trophy.

He also played his way into Final Qualifying for The Open Championship in the summer after success in regionals, but was unable to secure a spot at Royal Portrush.

England Golf Men’s performance manager, Ben Gorvett, said: “All players selected to be a member of this elite group have had a season to be proud of.

“Now they have the opportunity to advance their game further through a competitive environment and support from world-class coaches.

“2025 saw many success stories up and down the country, and many players put their hands up to be in this position, which is a credit to all the work going on from the top to the bottom of our pathway.

“These men have demonstrated they have the talent to wear the rose on their chest, and the attitudes to do it proud.

“They understand that being in this squad is a privilege, but they have the confidence to know they deserve it.

“This thriving environment of technical and performance coaching, psychological support, and strength and conditioning and nutrition support, will form the foundation of their amateur careers and their life in the professional ranks – we want to develop and produce world-beaters.

“Alongside their inclusion in this thriving environment, their work ethic and determination will be a key factor in their success next season, and the bond they create will be a contributing factor to the success of England.

“We are proud to have yet another great cohort of golfers, but more importantly, people who will go on to do great things and inspire the next generation.”

In the England Boys squad is 15-year-old George Whitehead, who plays at Hillside Golf Club in Southport on the West Lancashire coast.

The teenager, who plays of an impressive +2.8 handicap, earned his place following a year of top 10 finishes at tournaments across the UK and Europe, and is the youngest member of the team for 2026.
