London Broncos have made another impressive signing, adding an international half-back to their incredible squad for 2026.
Having missed out on promotion to Super League through the application process, the Broncos are going all out to ensure they do everything they can on field in terms of earning promotion for 2027 as they build a Championship supersquad.
It’s expected that the IMG gradings will still be what determines the make-up of Super League in 2027 so London will have to do more than just win on field, but that’s not stopped the Broncos from an impressive recruitment cycle.
The latest of those signings is Papua New Guinea international Gairo Voro with the young half-back signing fresh off the back of helping the Kumuls win the Pacific Bowl.
It means that Broncos head coach Jason Demetriou, who also coaches the Kumuls internationally, brings another of his PNG stars across on the back of signing Finley Glare and Morea Morea.
London Broncos sign another PNG rising star
It’s always been expected that London would tap into the market opened up by Demetriou as coach of the Kumuls and recently, Demetriou has teased that more would come.
Voro is the latest of those with the 22-year-old half another to come through the PNG Hunters system before earning a big move. In 2025, he scored seven tries and registered 12 assists in just 19 games as the Hunters finished 7th in the Queensland Cup.
He’s since debuted for Papa New Guinea, partnering Lachlan Lam and then new London teammate Finley Glare. It’s unclear who will partner in 2026 given the fact the Broncos have signed former NRL man Dean Hawkins and they’ve also retained Connor O’Beirne.
England fans could also get a chance to see Voro in 2026 as Jason Demetriou has recently suggested that Papua New Guinea could take on England in a mid-season international, owing to the number of PNG players already playing in England.
It would be a major boost to both national teams to get a game in before next year’s Rugby League World Cup.
