Bruno Fernandes was on target twice as Manchester United secured a 2-1 win against West Ham in the United States.Fernandes scored twice against West Ham.
Bruno Fernandes has praised Matheus Cunha for making an immediate impact in the dressing room.
Manchester United completed the signing of Cunha from Wolves for £62.5million at the beginning of the summer transfer window and the Brazilian has made a strong start at the club.
Cunha has impressed in training, but he has also endeared himself to his new teammates.
Speaking before facing West Ham in New Jersey, Ruben Amorim said he “loves” Cunha because he has been loud in the dressing room, and Fernandes agreed with that assessment.
“We know the Brazilians are very loud and very happy, so he’s one of them,” Fernandes told CBS.
“He’s a very funny guy, he’s come into the group very well and has settled very quickly with everyone.
“That is very good because we need him at this pace, to create a connection with every player to get the best out of him, but also from the team.”
Fernandes opened the scoring by converting from the spot in the first few minutes of the match and netted his brace with an outstanding strike in the 52nd minute.
“I felt good, the training sessions have been very, very good,” added Fernandes. “We have been doing very well, obviously they have been tough ones, but it’s to prepare us for this kind of game.
“It’s good to win the game, even with it being a friendly, we want to win every game to prepare ourselves in the best way and go into the season in a positive way.
“Overall, the game was good. I think we were very good on the ball and in some moments we could have done longer possessions, as the manager was asking us.
“We rushed a little bit in the final third to get our chances, to get our goals, so we have to work on that, but I think overall it was a very good game for us.”
