Over 300 applications from more than 20 countries have been received to date for the Dreaming San Marino Song Contest.

Ahead of the start of casting for the Dreaming San Marino Song Contest, organisers have received over 300 applications to date. Artists from twenty-four countries have applied to complete, including from the likes of Canada, Lebanon and Turkey.

The largest number of applications to date has been received from Sapin. Last year over 1,200 applications were received to compete in the Sammarinese selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. The countries from which applications have been received so far are:

Singers can register now until January 20Β here, they will then be invited to a one-day casting session, from which 230 singers will be selected to go through to the β€˜Stage & Live Academy’ phase.

As was the case previously, only singers from San Marino, Italy, Switzerland, France, Austria, and Slovenia will need to attend casting in person. Those from further abroad can request an online casting if they do not wish to attend casting in person. Casting will cost €150.00 to participate in, and participants must enter with two songs that are eligible to compete in the Eurovision Song Contest

The β€˜Stage & Live Academy’ phase will be formed of eight sessions, with 30 singers in each session. To participate in this phase participants must pay a fee of €150.00, unless the participant is from San Marino, then they will pay €50.00. Singers at this phase may only compete with one song. From each session, a jury will select five singers to qualify for the semi-finals of the San Marino Song Contest. They will then compete in two semi-finals on March 3 and 4, formed of 20 singers each, and five acts from each semi-final will qualify for the final.

The final of the San Marino Song Contest 2025 will be held on March 7. 20 acts will compete, ten from theΒ Dreaming San Marino Song ContestΒ and ten established acts who are prequalified for the final. The winner will be determined by a five-member jury.

Gabry Ponte represented San Marino in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 with β€œTutta l’Italia”, making the first appearance of the country in the Grand Final since 2021. San Marino finished last with 27 points.

San Marino debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2008 alongside Azerbaijan. Miodio represented San Marino on their debut with the song β€œComplice”, and finished last in their semi-final with just 5 points. San Marino withdrew from the contest before returning again in 2011. Since then, the country has participated annually. San Marino first qualified for the final in 2014 and has gone on to qualify for the final on three further occasions, most recently in 2025.
