Marly Bitungane on his NRL debut
London Broncos have signed two more overseas players, with their 2026 Championship squad continuing to take shape.
The Broncos have acquired NRL African-born forward Emarly Bitungane. The 22-year-old Tanzanian made his debut for North Queensland Cowboys last season and has two NRL appearances to his name.
Bitungane emigrated to Australia from Tanzania at a young age and only started playing rugby league in his teenage years. He started out as a winger while playing locally in Brisbane but now plays as a prop forward.
He was the first player to debut in the NRL from Tanzania and is just the second African player to ever play in the competition.
Meanwhile, London have also signed Canterbury Bulldogs back-row forward Luke Smith for the 2026 season. Smith also made his NRL debut in 2025 and, like Bitungane, is set to return to Australia in 2027.
All out-of-contract players have been free to talk to new NRL franchise Perth Bears since November 1, with the forward pair reportedly set to join the Western Australia club ahead of their entry to the league in 2027.
Co-owned by Darren Lockyer and coached next season by Jason Demetriou, London have signed numerous players for 2026.
Papua New Guinea duo Robert Mathias and Epel Kapinias signed this week, with three more Kumuls – Gairo Voro, Finley Glare, and Morea Morea – also agreeing to join the club.
Elsewhere, former Australia Test prop Reagan Campbell-Gillard, NRL half-back Dean Hawkins, and Tongan hooker/loose-forward Siliva Havili have joined, with domestic recruits Elliot Wallis and Jack Croft also acquired.
The club are also understood to have signed Papua New Guinea pair Nene Macdonald and Jeremiah Simbiken.
