The incident took place on Station Road in Swindon, near to Swindon Railway Station, on Friday night, November 21.
A car which was driving along Station Road just past its junction with Corporation Street is understood to have veered off the road and collided with a lamppost and a fence, causing the vehicle to flip onto its roof.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, as the road was closed overnight.
The driver of the car, a 52-year-old man, is now confirmed to have died as a result of the crash.

As of Saturday, November 22, Station Road has been reopened to motorists. However, the fence where the collision took place remains cordoned off with police tape, and debris from the crash is still visible on the ground.
At this stage, it is not known what caused the crash, but police have confirmed that the man’s death is not being treated as suspicious.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police added: “Our thoughts are with the man’s family at this difficult time.”
