Infinity Nikki is, believe it or not, a full year old – and that means its enormous v2.00 update is almost upon us.
Due out on 25th November – or 26th November, depending on your time zone – this free update will dramatically expand upon the dress-up open world.
Among the new inclusions are several outfits augmenting the titular heroine with new abilities, including a bow-and-arrow and grappling hook. She can also summon spirits and gigantify.
The storyline will take you to a new world named Itzaland, where you’ll encounter new characters and species and engage in fresh activities, including parkour-style platforming challenges and even snail-shell boat rides.
And, of course, you’ll find a catalogue of new outfits to add to your collection, many of which can be unlocked for free through gameplay.
“Infinity Nikki has always been about giving players the freedom to express themselves,” Infold Games’ Douhu said.
“With Version 2.0, we wanted to take that freedom even further. This update is not just about exploring Itzaland, but about shaping it. It represents everything we’ve learned over the past year, and everything we still want to build together with our players.”
Infinity Nikki has gone through some ups-and-downs since it released. While it was very well received upon launch, some unnecessary storyline changes really turned players away around six months after release.
The dev has been trying to recover ever since, and v2.0 represents a big step towards getting the game back on track. Of note, it runs much smoother at 60fps on PS5 these days.
Will you be getting back into Infinity Nikki and checking out the latest update? You can watch a full 90-minute livestream above, which delves into intricate detail about everything you can expect.
