Hull KR

Hull KR and Brisbane Broncos will battle to be crowned the best in the world this February, as the World Club Challenge returns to the rugby league calendar.

Willie Peters’ and Michael Maguire’s men will go head-to-head, following their Grand Final wins on either side of the world against Wigan Warriors and Melbourne Storm respectively.

Having not being played this year due to both the Warriors and Penrith Panthers’ involvement in Las Vegas, the event will return on Thursday 19 February, as Hull FC’s MKM Stadium plays host to one of the biggest club rugby league matches of the year.

KR have already announced that the game is a sell-out, with the game also set to smash the previous MKM record for the highest attended club game of rugby league.

The British sides have won the past two instalments, with St Helens defeating Penrith in Australia in 2023, before Wigan overcame the same team in 2024.

Broadcast details confirmed for Hull KR and Brisbane Broncos’ World Club Challenge showdown

Today, RL Commercial have announced the full broadcast details, with two channels set to air the fixture live.

It was already known that Sky Sports will present coverage of the game, as they have done in previous years. In addition, the game’s governing body have confirmed that the event will be shown on free-to-air TV, with the BBC also having rights to show the game.

Coverage will be available live on BBC3 , meaning that one of the biggest games of the season will be available for anyone to watch, and will allow for more eyes to be on the sport.

BBC and Rugby League have a continued partnership, having been the home of the Challenge Cup since the 1950’s. More recently, they have aired Super League matches throughout the season, something that they will do again in 2026.
