If Arne Slot loses his job, Jurgen Klopp seems to be the favourite to take over.

The Reds, but specifically Slot, are under a lot of pressure right now, with their next few games key in what happens next.

If Slot does go, then Klopp is one of the names being linked with taking over, and many fans do not seem opposed to this happening at all.

Whether the German would accept is another thing, however, although there are so many reasons why he would be a good appointment.

One of these is that he might just be able to get the very best out of Florian Wirtz, with Klopp’s track record showing that he could turn him into a Premier League star.

During his time at Bayer Leverkusen, Wirtz predominantly played as a number 10 and shone, but he has not been able to do that at Liverpool just yet.

However, Klopp might be able to change that as, although he never really used a player like this during his time at Anfield, he did at Borussia Dortmund, and very successfully too.

In this position, he got a lot out of the likes of Marco Reus, Shinji Kagawa and Mario Gotze, with all of them thriving under the German manager.

So, if Klopp did come back, reverting back to this and using it at Liverpool might help Wirtz kick on, especially as under Slot he looks a little lost so far.

When will Florian Wirtz come good at Liverpool?

“So far, everything is going as expected; it’s a completely normal settling-in process, entirely independent of any transfer fee.

“Florian consciously took a step to become an even better footballer. And he doesn’t regret it at all. He’s doing well in Liverpool, he looks forward to every training session, and he’s settled in with the team. We’re 100 percent satisfied with how things are going so far.”

It does not show any signs of improving either, even when he is played off the left, so perhaps the only way for this to change is for Klopp to come in and work his magic.

Jurgen Klopp is clearly a big fan of Florian Wirtz already

Despite how poor he has been since joining, everyone in Germany refuses to turn their backs on Wirtz and almost all say how he will come good eventually.

Klopp is one of them as he has been very supportive of the 22-year-old, believing that he is the type of player to bounce back.

“With Florian Wirtz, I simply don’t have to worry because his quality is so outstanding,” he said back in October.

It may have been almost two months since he made that comment, but Wirtz still has time on his side, so Klopp arriving might just help him find his feet even quicker.
