Morgan Gibbs-White is still very likely to end the summer a Tottenham player, sources have told Football Insider.
Gibbs-White was set to join Spurs for a fee of around £60million, after the North London club triggered the release clause in his Nottingham Forest contract
However, the deal was dramatically halted when Forest reported Tottenham to the Premier League for allegedly ‘tapping up’ their player.
Despite the controversy, sources say that the move will be finalised by the end of the transfer window.

Sources say that there is a “willingness” on Gibbs-White’s end to join Tottenham, despite the fact he has reported back to pre-season training at Forest.
The Nottingham-based side’s complaints about the way Spurs have approached their midfielder are expected to hold up the deal.

However, Tottenham have met the release clause in Gibbs-White’s contract, meaning that the England international now has grounds to force a move.
Forest are reluctant to let two of their star players go in one window, and after already selling Anthony Elanga to Newcastle, they would prefer to restrict any further sales.
As the release clause has been triggered though, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have very little legal standing to prevent the deal going through.

Meanwhile, Newcastle and Tottenham are reportedly the latest clubs to join the race to sign Liverpool star Harvey Elliott during the summer transfer window.
That is according to former Man United and Sunderland chief scout Mick Brown, who claims that the interested parties will hold talks with the 22-year-old’s representatives.
However, there is no shortage of interest in the midfielder, with Brighton, Fulham, and a number of Bundesliga clubs also keen on his signature.
Football Insider revealed on 2 July that Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig want Elliott and are prepared to rival Premier League outfits in their pursuit.
