Celtic fans get to watch Martin O’Neill work his magic for another game.

Usually, fans would get frustrated if their club took over a month to officially appoint a new manager, but O’Neill can’t stop winning, so Celtic fans are pretty happy.

Everyone thought Celtic’s win over Hibernian on Sunday at Easter Road was going to be O’Neill’s final bow in the dugout.

But the legendary coach shared that he is staying on until Celtic’s Premiership clash against Dundee on Wednesday night, but should he stay on longer?

Sky Sports discussed O’Neill’s situation and the number of matches Wilfried Nancy will have to deal with, all whilst trying to implement his new style.

That’s why James McFadden was in the boat that O’Neill should stay on for Celtic’s League Cup final against St Mirren at Hampden next week.

“Well, if he keeps winning, maybe,” responded McFadden on whether O’Neill will be at Hampden.

“If you have a new manager coming in that has a totally different style, with no time to work on it. To make those changes so suddenly, when the team is winning, it’s usually to change something to bring a freshness to give the players something different.

“They are actually on a great run. The victories. It makes sense that Martin O’Neill is still in charge. The turnaround in time between games is so short that the work you have to do is minimal.

“It then becomes a bigger gamble. I thought it was a bigger gamble anyway (going for Nancy). Something needed to change at Celtic. I think Martin O’Neill has been able to do that.”

Celtic’s fixtures until St Mirren cup final

Some big games are coming up for the Hoops in the coming week that could have a huge bearing on who will be the Premiership leaders, the chances of securing a Europa League knockout phase, and winning a trophy.

For someone like Nancy, it would be some introduction if he wins all three matches, but equally, O’Neill will deserve to take charge of all those matches because he has deserved it.
