Nick Saloman has announced his 27th album as The Bevis Frond, titled Horrorful Heights and out April 3 via Fire Records. It follows 2024’s great Focus on Nature. The 20-track double album was made with longtime members Dave Pearce on drums and Paul Simmons on guitar, alongside new bassist Louis Wiggett.
“As usual, it’s a collection of what I thought were my best songs of the last couple of years,” says Nick. “I just sit down and write stuff when the muse hits (which is pretty frequently), but somehow this time I felt there was a slightly different feel to the songs. Nothing very different, you understand, but perhaps just a bit more commercial. It wasn’t intentional, it never is, I just write and what comes out is what you get.”
The first single from Horrorful Heights is its sitar-laden title track, which is a little more psychedelic and a little less fuzzy indie rock then The Bevis Frond has been giving us of late. You can listen to that and watch a trailer for the album below.
The Bevis Frond toured North America for the first time in ages this summer and have UK dates in the spring. All are listed below.
