Pre-season training is in full swing for Hull KR as they gear up for the new season and their defence of the treble.

Coach Willie Peters has welcomed back most of his squad, with several players who took part in the Super League Grand Final already back in pre-season training.

Only five players have yet to return to the club ahead of the new season, all of whom were involved in international matches following the club’s historic victory at Old Trafford.

England representatives Jez Litten, Mikey Lewis and Joe Burgess are enjoying an extended break, while Tyrone May and Rhyse Martin are also currently away from the club after participating in the Pacific Championships with Samoa and Papua New Guinea respectively.

All five will be back on 29th December, at which point the entire Robins squad will be assembled. Arthur Mourgue, who represented France against Jamaica, returned late last week.

The Rovers will head to Tenerife for warm-weather training on 9th January. Upon their return, they will face Wakefield Trinity in a pre-season friendly at Sewell Group Craven Park on Sunday, 25th January.

Their first competitive match is in the Challenge Cup, where they will play against lower-league opposition on the weekend of 7/8th February. They will then begin their defence of the League Leaders’ Shield against York Knights on Thursday, 12th February.
