There will be changes to DWP payments around the Christmas periodState pensioners born after 1951 set to be handed £575 sweetener from DWPPension payments will be paid out on different dates for some people.

Payments dates for some state pensioners will be changing during December.

Older people will need to keep an eye on their bank accounts over the Christmas period.

Bank holidays during December may mean money arriving on different days to usual.

The DWP doesn’t process payments on bank holidays so they are usually paid out earlier instead.

Anyone due to get their payment on Christmas Day (Thursday, December 25) should get it 24 hours earlier on Christmas Eve.

Likewise, anyone due a payment on Boxing Day (Friday, December 26) should also receive it on Christmas Eve.

There’s another bank holiday a few days later on New Year’s Day (Thursday, January 1)

Anyone due to receive a payment on the first day of the new year should instead get it on Wednesday, December 31 (New Year’s Eve).

Those whose payments dates fall outside of these times will not be affected and will get their money as usual.

These changes also happen for people who receive DWP benefits.

Millions of pensioners will also be getting the £10 Christmas Bonus this month, another payment they need to be aware of.
