Former Coronation Street and current Waterloo Road star Kym Marsh has spoken about the friendship she struck up with Neighbours legend Jackie Woodburne and Home and Away actor turned Club Disco diva, The X Factor judge and I Kissed a Boy/Girl host Dannii Minogue.

Marsh stars in new 5 drama The Imposter, in which a woman reunites with her mother after being given up for adoption. That’s what she says at least, but is she telling the truth?

Marsh jetted off Down Under to film the British/Australian four-part co-production, which was created by Neighbours boss Jason Herbison.

While there, she formed a strong bond with her co-stars, something she opened up about in a chat with OK!

“I am a 49-year-old woman, but it was the furthest I’d ever gone before alone,” she said.

“I was all by myself flying off for six weeks without any of my family but they very quickly put me at ease. It felt like I had known everybody forever.”

She further explained that really got along with Woodburne, with whom she shared a lot of scenes as the show’s mother-daughter duo (or are they?).

“Jackie was incredible,” Marsh said. “She’s a bit of a royal really in terms of the TV world and she’s done a lot of stuff and she’s this very seasoned actress and then to work with her like that, she did take me under her wing because she knew I didn’t know anyone in Australia and we worked together a lot.

“A lot of our scenes were together and she was just very supportive and lovely. I went out for dinner with her and felt very welcomed. And I think Jackie will be a friend forever, actually.”

Marsh, who had her own singing career as part of Hear’Say and a brief solo venture, said of Minogue: “I literally crossed paths with Dannii once on camera. But I did meet her, and I had a lovely time with her.

“She was a very nice nice human being. Very wonderful, warm, and friendly. She was great on set with everybody.”

The Imposter begins next Monday (15 December) at 9pm on 5.
