Eden Medical Group in Carlisle, saw 2,780 GP or Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) appointments and 2,234 nurse or healthcare assistant appointments.

Statistics from the surgery revealed that 3,421 of these appointments were conducted face-to-face.

They also dealt with more than 4,700 phone calls and 3,281 online triage submissions with 164 submissions each day.

Statistics show 93.66 per cent of those who submitted a query using the online system had this resolved on the same day which included organising appointments for a future date.

The surgery now has a new online system that allows people to book appointments digitally which has been praised by patients.

One patient said: “I just wanted to message to say how great the new online triage system is.

“I did a triage at 16:10pm and received a call back with an appointment at 8:30pm the next day at 16:22pm.

“This was very much needed at the practice and in my opinion is fantastic.”

Another said: “It was simple and quick from online query to appointment to seeing doctor.”
