Alan Brazil never seems to learn his lesson with Celtic.

Even though Brazil supports Celtic, he doesn’t half come out with nonsense about the club, as he proved with Ange Postecoglou many years ago.

In 2021, when Celtic appointed the unknown Postecoglou, you had people like Brazil mocking his arrival.

That was slapped back in his face as Postecoglou went on to lift trophies, including the Treble.

But now Brazil has done it again.

Thoughts on Chris Sutton’s strong call for patience with Wilfried Nancy?

I didn’t agree with Willie’s Nancy’s decision to change things against Hearts but some of the hysteria and nonsense written and said about him is totally unjust. The guy has come in and not had time to work. He needs time … just like Ange Postecoglou did

Celtic understand why there is so much noise around them. That’s what happens when you are Scotland’s biggest and most successful club.

But some of the nonsense being spouted about Nancy is quite ridiculous, with Brazil questioning on talkSPORT if Celtic’s new manager was playing ‘Chinese checkers’ when he was seen using his tactic board against Hearts.

For decades and decades, coaches have used tactics boards to get their point across to their players. The fact that this needs to be explained to simpletons is ridiculous in itself.

Yet, Nancy’s use of that has resulted in him getting criticised, and it had to take a former Rangers man for some sense to be brought to proceedings.

Ally McCoist stated that all Nancy is doing is ‘what every manager does’, and he even added that he feels ‘sorry’ for the Frenchman because he lost his first match.

Brazil: “I don’t want to talk about Celtic, to be honest. I’m trying to give this new manager a chance.

‘But Jesus wept. What was going on on that bench? Hey? Chinese checkers.”

McCoist: “Listen, mate. It was unfortunate. All he is doing is what a lot of managers do at half-time. They sit and go through. They have their cones out.”

Brazil: “Can’t you have that in your head. Talk to them and tell them what to do?”

McCoist: “Listen, I feel sorry for him because he has lost his first game. I genuinely do. All he is doing is what every manager does. They sit there with their wee cones, and they do their bits and pieces. They do their formations.

“But unfortunately, he lost his first game, and everybody is having a go and making fun of it. There you are. That’s it.”
