SPOTLIGHT: Springbok captain Siya Kolisi has entered the discussion after RugbyPass revealed the latest list in their Top 100 men’s players in 2025.

Kolisi and fellow Springboks Jesse Kriel and Jasper Wiese are all in the section of players ranked between 60 and 41.

No.8 Wiese comes in at No.57. He was among a group of Boks who finished the season with a 100% win-record.

While injury and suspension curtailed his involvement in the early stages of the Test schedule, the powerful No.8 started seven of South Africa’s last eight Tests.

His return from suspension in September coincided with the second Test against the All Blacks, in Wellington, which the Boks went on to win by a record-breaking 33-point margin.

Kriel is ranked No.53 and has been one of the most used players in an ever-changing Springboks line-up over the past two seasons. He remains one of their most important figures in defence.

Captain Kolisi comes in at No.49.

He has led the team 72 times and is closing in on Smit’s record of 83.

Having led them to five straight wins on tour recently, Kolisi (74%) has surpassed Teichmann (72%) in terms of his success-rate.
