Gogglebox couple Roisin Kelly and Joe Kyle have been dropped by Channel 4, leaving fans feeling “gutted”.

Announcing the news via social media, the couple, who have been on the show for over three years, said they were not asked to return for season 26.

Taking to Instagram, Joe and Roisin shared some pictures of their time on Gogglebox as well as some memes making fun of their current situation.

They captioned the post: “After three and a half years of sitting on the sofa channel 4 have decided it’s time for Joe and I to stretch our legs and have not asked us back for season 26. Therefore we are leaving the Gogglebox family.”

In the post, Roisin and Joe thanked Studio Lambert as well as the crew, saying they have “made friends for life” who they will miss “immensely”.

Ending the post, they said: “A huge thank you to everyone who has watched us, met us, and supported us during this experience, it for sure has been a once in a lifetime opportunity.

“Time to watch tv in silence for a bit and put down the popcorn.”

Fans took to the comment section to share their thoughts on the news, with many expressing their sadness about the decision, with one fan writing: “Noooooo why would they do this.”

One fan commented: “Gutted! You and Joe are so funny and it’s been so good having fellow Scots on the show! Won’t be the same without youse.”

“Gutted,” penned another, adding: “It was so nice to have young, funny, Scottish representation on the show! Heartbreak hotel.”

“Loved the entertainment you both bring each week – gutted by this,” wrote one upset fan. “Thanks for all the laughs you brought myself and my family. The show won’t be the same.”

“Won’t be the same without you guys in our living rooms on a Friday evening , thanks for a very enjoyable three & a half years . I wish you both all the best for the future,” another viewer said.

A Channel 4 spokesperson said (via The Mirror): “We thank Joe and Roisin for their contributions to Gogglebox over the years, and wish them all the best for the future.”
