Super League champions Hull KR have confirmed their first and likely only pre-season game with Super League opponents locked in.
Prior to Friday evening’s announcement, ten Super League teams had confirmed pre-season games with French pair Toulouse Olympique and Catalans Dragons joining Leigh Leopards and Hull KR in not having trial games confirmed.
It’s been reported that Leigh will play Warrington but it’s now been confirmed that Hull KR will play Wakefield Trinity with the sides set to face off in late January.
They become the eleventh Super League team to officially lock in a pre-season game with another all Super League clash created. Whilst the game will be the first and likely only pre-season game that Hull KR play, opponents Wakefield have already booked in their traditional Boxing Day clash with Leeds Rhinos meaning that their two pre-season games are spread a month apart from one another.

Hull KR lock in Wakefield Trinity friendly
January’s friendly was confirmed by both clubs on social media with the game slated for Sunday, January 25th with a 3:00 pm kick-off time locked in.
It will be played at Craven Park with tickets set to go on sale in the New Year.
Hull KR won two of the three games last year, including the meeting at Craven Park, but the most recent meeting saw Wakefield dominate the Robins in the first half and run out comfortable winners.
The game will serve as an opportunity for new signings to be seen with Hull KR having just announced Karl Lawton as their latest addition, whilst Wakefield have added NRL talent in the former of Tyson Smoothy and Jazz Tevaga.
It’s thought this game will be the only trial game that the Robins play with the club expected to go to Tenerife for their warm-weather pre-season training in January. That’s similar to last year when the Robins travelled to Amsterdam to take on York Knights in their sole pre-season game.
