A nurse has been recognised with a prestigious title for her work in patient care, learning and leadership.

Gail Edwards, a community education practitioner at Jersey Hospice Care, has been given the title of Queen’s Nurse by community nursing charity the Queen’s Institute of Community Nursing.

Registered nurses with more than five years’ experience working in the community are considered for the title, with managers and patients providing feedback to help make the decision.

Ms Edwards said she was “hugely inspired to continue sharing knowledge and ensuring that all community colleagues, regardless of where they work, have access to this education”.
