The Traitors‘ Charlotte Chilton has shared a huge health update with her fans, after being rushed to hospital. The reality star, who appeared on season 2 of the show, revealed that she had suffered a “huge” trigeminal neuralgia attack and would be undergoing brain surgery today.
According to the NHS, trigeminal neuralgia is sudden, severe facial pain that is often described as a sharp, shooting pain. The condition typically affects just one side of the face, but can occasionally affect both.
The website explains: “It usually happens in short, unpredictable attacks that can last from a few seconds to about two minutes. The attacks stop as suddenly as they start.”
Taking to Instagram earlier today, Charlotte shared a picture of herself in a hospital gown as she updated fans about her on-going condition. Though her hand was covered in bandages and attached to medical equipment, the picture saw her smiling defiantly with her thumb up.
“As many of you know I have tried raise awareness of the condition trigeminal neuralgia. I have unfortunately found myself back in hospital with a terrible attack and this has resulted in me needing another neuro surgery to control it,” she wrote in the caption.

Charlotte admitted that the surgery was “daunting” but would provide her with “long-term relief” and allow her to “get on with [her] life”.
“After being rushed into A and E with a huge attack, I have been taken care of by the amazing Neuro team at QE hospital and today I have an operation to relieve me of my physical torture,” she explained.

Charlotte has previously spoken openly about her illness, which she vowed not to let control her life. In an interview with Metro, she described the pain as “unbearable”, and shared that she had surgery to alleviate her symptoms in the past.
The star concluded her Instagram post by encouraging fellow trigeminal neuralgia sufferers to seek out the right treatment for their condition.
“For my TN followers keep fighting to find the right team to support you. They call this the suicide disease for a reason,” she said, adding: “I’m so grateful for my family and friends who have supported me through this hellish week! Wish me luck and see you on the other side!!”
The Traitors season 4 premieres on BBC One at 8pm on 1 January 2026.
