Phantom Blade Zero finally received its release date during The Game Awards 2024, with a new trailer showing gameplay and story moments while confirming the launch for PlayStation 5 and PC on September 9, 2026,

However, much like other recent PS5 console exclusives such as Silent Hill 2, it appears the exclusivity will only last 12 months before the game is slated to appear on other platforms.

Although the studio previously said they have no exclusive deal with Sony, PlayStation has now confirmed that Phantom Blade Zero will be a console exclusive for 12 months.

The note at the end of the official release date trailer states: “Also available on PC. Not available on other consoles until at least 12 months after release date.” This means that if the game eventually comes to rival platforms like Xbox Series X|S or Nintendo Switch 2, those versions would likely arrive after September 9, 2027, once the timed exclusivity window has expired.

Developed by S-GAME, Phantom Blade Zero is an action-RPG that combines “Wuxia” elements we’ve seen from titles such as Where Winds Meet,  Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, and combines it with modern gaming mechanics. Thankfully, it’s not a full-on Souls-like game, which should be good news for gamers tired of the genre.

In related news, Phantom Blade Zero’s main story is expected to take 20-30 hours, with another 20 hours of side content, It will also feature boss fights designed to reduce frustration, players can restart directly from the second phase after dying, rather than repeating earlier stages.
