The Wire have confirmed that, for the fourth year in a row, Leigh Leopards will travel to The Halliwell Jones Stadium for a trial fixture.

The match, which will be both sides’ final run-out before the competitive action starts, will take place on Friday, January 30, kick off 7.30pm.

Tickets are available now with prices starting at £20 for adults, £15 for concessions and £5 for juniors while under 12s go free with a paying adult. 2026 season members will be entitled to a discounted ticket.

Leigh have emerged victorious in each of the past two January meetings between the sides, with Warrington winning back in 2023 in a match that became more synonymous for Josh McGuire’s sending-off to start an ill-fated spell with the club.

Warrington had already been confirmed as facing Widnes Vikings in another home friendly on Friday, January 9, but Leigh do not have any other pre-season matches on their schedule.

Both sides will enter the Challenge Cup at the third-round stage the weekend after their pre-season meeting, with the Super League campaign getting underway the following weekend.

The two neighbours will now meet at least four times at various points in 2026 following confirmation of the friendly – Leigh will return to The Halliwell Jones Stadium in Round Seven on April 4 while Wire will travel to Leigh Sports Village for Round 20 on July 25, with the sides also meeting at Magic Weekend on Saturday, July 4.
