Manchester United have made contact with Eberechi Eze’s representatives ahead of a potential move in the summer transfer window, it has been claimed. The 27-year-old has been subject to interest from Arsenal and Tottenham following another impressive season at Crystal Palace.

In fact, Eze scored 14 goals and provided 11 assists in 43 appearances for Oliver Glasner’s side in 2024/25. The England international netted the match-winner in the FA Cup final against Manchester City and ended the Premier League campaign having struck five times in his final five appearances.

It’s no surprise that Eze has attracted interest from across the Premier League, with the former Queens Park Rangers man boasting a £68million release clause in his Palace contract. According to a report from Caught Offside, United have contacted Eze’s agent to explore a potential move.

United have strengthened in the final third this summer with Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo arriving through the Old Trafford doors. But after such a disappointing season, the Reds are expected to add more players to the squad, as well as offloading several first-team stars.

The Manchester Evening News reported in September that United were monitoring Eze’s situation.. Eze has two years left on his contract and Palace could cash in on the attacking midfielder.

While it’s unclear how Eze would fit into United’s XI after both Cunha and Mbeumo signed, he would get the seal of approval from one of the club’s greatest-ever players.

Back in June, United legend Scholes shared a photo of Eze, following England’s 3-1 defeat against Senegal, on his Instagram story alongside the caption: “Just buy him…”

Scholes hasn’t been the only former player to urge United to make a move for the Palace star. Speaking in May, Dwight Yorke said: “Eberechi Eze at Crystal Palace would be perfect for Manchester United.

“Yeah, he scored at the weekend in the FA Cup final, but it’s not just about that. A year ago, maybe more, I said this kid and Michael Olise – who went to Bayern – United should buy them for £100million. Put £100m down and you will get two fantastic players.

“Instead, they listened to the figures in the hierarchy, which is understandable, but it’s glaring just how good these two are. Eze has the decision-making, the talent, he’s a good athlete, he can create and score. He’s at the right age to step up and play on a bigger platform. It’s a no-brainer.”
