Manchester United ended up sharing the spoils with Bournemouth on Monday night, having drawn 4-4 at Old Trafford as Gary Neville watched on while commentating.

It was a game labelled the best of the season by Jamie Carragher post-match; however, for Ruben Amorim, there will be real frustration.

Manchester United’s start to the game should have earned a victory, but as usual, the Red Devils were really wasteful in front of goal.

United drew 4-4 against Bournemouth, with the attack clearly thriving right now, but the issue is how leaky the defence is, with just one clean sheet in 16.

During the performance against the Cherries, Gary Neville couldn’t help but be impressed with one player in particular.

United had some excellent performers in the chaotic victory, mainly those further up the pitch, and among the forwards to impress was Matheus Cunha.

Cunha was among United’s biggest winners, scoring a great goal and all around being a dangerman throughout, as he continues to find form.

Speaking on commentary for Sky Sports, Neville highlighted Cunha for his quality, disputing the claims that he’s struggled in his United career, arguing he’s played really well.

“When you watch him play for United, he adds so much”, the legendary United defender explained.

Continuing, he added, “Cunha’s play is fantastic.”

Throughout this season, Cunha has been playing really well, but with goals and assists beginning to flow, he will get the credit he deserves.

Matheus Cunha was always going to come good for Manchester United

While he didn’t have the start that he would have been dreaming of at United, Cunha is simply too good a footballer not to come good in the long run, and we are now seeing that.

Cunha was very good against Wolves, getting an assist, and now he’s got a second goal of the season, which should do wonders for his confidence ahead of facing Aston Villa next weekend.

Outside of his goal, Cunha created three chances for teammates, and his ability to drop deep, drive with the ball and make space are all invaluable.

Hopefully, he can now kick on even more and help United not feel the effects of missing Amad and Bryan Mbeumo.
