Christmas in Albert Square looks set to be anything by merry… (Picture: BBC/Kieron McCarron/Matt Burlem)
EastEnders have finally dropped their 2025 Christmas teaser and, honestly, it’s giving more ‘Terrifier 3’ than ‘White Christmas’!
With music befitting of a 90’s slasher epic to set the mood, Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan) sits wistfully across from mum Kat (Jessie Wallace), seemingly heartened by the fact that this is her first Christmas in over twenty years that’ll she spend with her family.
‘Strap yourself in,’ Kat replies. Indeed.
After a solid two to three seconds of festive cheer; George Knight (Colin Salmon) raises a glass while Max Branning (Jake Wood) toasts a seemingly enormous gathering of Brannings and Beales, the mood quickly changes.
Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) eyes his brother suspiciously, while Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) is approached by a mysterious stranger before we’re plunged head first into Kat accusing somebody of being behind Zoe’s stalking in front of a packed out Queen Vic.
Honestly, you’d think Kat and Alfie (Shane Richie) would knock the public events on the head at this point.
As Nigel Bates (Paul Bradley), Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker), Phil (Steve McFadden) and Sam Mitchell (Kim Medcalf) look on, Kat’s clearly convinced she’s discovered the culprit.
After what appears to be a power cut (evidenced by the fact that people are armed with torches and it’s dark), Kat begs Alfie to clear the pub out, which he does, sending all of the patrons home as the Slater/Moon family look to reconvene.

As Kat and Zoe look terrified by what’s transpiring, sinister Jasmine Fisher (Indeyarna Donaldson-Holness) approaches, with the audience now aware that she is the long-lost (and presumed dead) daughter that Zoe left behind in the hospital nearly ten years ago.
It seems that Zoe’s stalking plot is due to come to a head this Christmas, and not soon enough for some fans…

What else to expect this Christmas in EastEnders

Zoe isn’t the only Walford resident to find trouble this Christmas (Picture: BBC/Jack Barns/Kieron McCarron)
Of course, our Zo’ won’t be the only Walford resident facing a dramatic festive period, with BBC bosses promising that: ‘Walford residents learn the consequences of their actions as they are visited by ghosts of their past, villains of the present, and visions of the future.’
Although the trailer shows Max back at the heart of the Branning/Beale clan, we know that peace won’t last for long.
‘Max is busy, very busy! He’s got a lot of history with a lot of the residents, some of whom he’s met before and others he’s yet to meet.
‘A lot has happened since we last saw Max, but also since he permanently lived in Walford, so there’s a mountain of secrets waiting to be exposed, and a whole lot of drama,’ promises Jake Wood.

…Phil and Julie begin to consider alternate care options for him (Picture: BBC/Jack Barns/Kieron McCarron)
As Nigel’s dementia symptoms continues to intensify, a previously reticent Phil starts to accept that he needs more care than perhaps he and Julie can provide.
Following an episode of confusion, during which Nigel locks himself in the Vic, and hallucinates Pat and Barry Evans (Pam St Clement and Shaun Williamson) as his perception of reality crumbles, he agrees with Julie that Nigel needs specialist intervention.
