Wigan Warriors have launched their home and away kits with the club’s chief executive Kris Radlinski having to apologise and explain the huge delay of the shirt launch.
Some clubs launched their shirts as early as October with most then following in November but it’s taken until past the mid point of December for Wigan Warriors to launch theirs, all because of issues outside the club’s control.
In a club statement, chief executive Kris Radlinski thanked fans for their patience as he explained: “Due to issues outside of our control, delivery timelines have unfortunately been impacted. We understand how frustrating this has been for supporters, particularly so close to Christmas, and we genuinely share that frustration.”
Radlinski also offered assurances that those at the club would be working “tirelessly behind the scenes” to ensure quick deliveries, with an apology issued for the lack of prior updates.
The delivery of the kits has cleared customs and that’s now seen the Cherry and Whites launch their home and away shirts along with purchase details.
Wigan Warriors launch shirts after lengthy delay
Despite having cleared customs, it doesn’t mean the shirts are in Wigan’s hands just yet so pre-orders have been opened up with shirts dispatched at the earliest available date. Fans have also been encouraged to collect shirts or visit the store when shirts are available, if possible, so as to remove any possible postage delays.
Moreover, personalisation of shirts isn’t available at the moment so that the club can process as many orders as possible in the shortest time frame.
Unsurprisingly, Wigan’s home shirt features the traditional cherry and white colour scheme whilst the away shirt is black with a red sponsor and red trim.
The home shirt is white across much of the chest with the cherry hoops getting progressively thicker as they go towards the abdomen, with the lower left section a solid block of cherry. Both shirts can be seen in the tweet below.
