Steven Spielberg has delivered two of his best films this decade with 2021’s West Side Story and 2022’s The Fabelmans, and on Tuesday we got a first look at the 78-year-old’s latest directorial effort.
Universal Pictures released a trailer for Disclosure Day, Spielberg’s previously untitled UFO movie, and it certainly lived up to the months-long hype. The trailer featured stars Emily Blunt and Josh O’Connor as well as Colin Firth, Colman Domingo, Eve Hewson, Wyatt Russell and Henry Lloyd-Hughes. It harkens back to some of the imagery and themes Spielberg explored masterfully in his sci-fi classics Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Minority Report, A.I. Artificial Intelligence and, of course, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.
See it for yourself:
Disclosure Day is Spielberg’s 35th feature film and his sixth collaboration with writer David Koepp. The duo has previously worked on Jurrasic Park and its sequel, The Lost World: Jurrasic Park, along with War of the Worlds and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
A Hollywood titan, Spielberg has won three Academy Awards and is the highest-grossing filmmaker of all time with his movies having made $10.8 billion worldwide. He looks have another hit on his hands with Disclosure Day, which releases in theaters June 12, 2026.
