The Michael Jackson Estate has now released an AI-upscaled version of Give In To Me, adding yet another Dangerous era short film to the growing list of recent upgrades appearing on the official Michael Jackson YouTube channel.
Originally released in 1993, Give In To Me is a dark, gritty performance piece filmed at a rock concert in Munich and featuring guitar legend Slash. The short film’s raw energy, dramatic lighting, and aggressive tone perfectly matched the song’s intensity and marked a striking departure from the glossy visuals often associated with Michael’s work during the early ’90s.
Unfortunately, as with previous AI upscales, the same technical issues are immediately noticeable. Fans have pointed out heavy smoothing on faces, loss of fine detail, unnatural softness, and digital artifacts that undermine the original film’s sharp contrasts and moody atmosphere. Rather than enhancing the experience, the AI treatment once again appears to blur and flatten imagery that was intentionally dark, textured, and powerful.
While many fans appreciate seeing more Dangerous era content revisited, frustration continues to grow over the Estate’s reliance on AI upscaling instead of proper film restoration. Give In To Me is another visually striking short film that deserved a careful, frame-accurate 4K restoration, not a shortcut that compromises the original artistic intent.
The upscaled version of Give In To Me is now available on Michael Jackson’s official YouTube channel. As always, MJVibe will continue to monitor fan reactions and developments surrounding the Estate’s handling of Michael Jackson’s visual legacy.
