Worcestershire County Cricket Club are excited to announce the signing of all-rounder Beyers Swanepoel, on a one-year red-ball contract.
Added to the squad ahead of the 2026 season, the 27-year-old South African will be available for the entirety of the Rothesay County Championship Division Two campaign.
An experienced all-rounder, Swanepoel will add valuable depth to the Pears middle-order batting stocks, whilst also offering his skills as an effective right-arm seam bowler.
Swanepoel joins the Pears after a two-year stint at rivals, Kent, but says he is excited to get started with his new challenge ahead of the forthcoming Division Two season.
“I have always enjoyed my time playing in England, and particularly the longer format of the game, so to be offered the opportunity to continue my red-ball journey at Worcestershire was one I was very keen on exploring.
“Championship cricket is tough, but joining a group full of potential and targeting promotion to Division One is an exciting prospect.
“It is a club with really big ambitions, so I can’t wait to get started.”
With a highest score of 188*, Swanepoel has a further seven first-class half-centuries and 189 wickets to his name during an impressive first-class career.
Worcestershire Men’s Head Coach Alan Richardson expressed his delight at securing Swanepoel’s services.
“We are always looking to add to the quality within the group and by bringing in someone with the red-ball experience that Beyers possesses, we feel as though we have done just that.
“He is a very accomplished all-round cricketer and will certainly add to our options with both bat and ball in four-day cricket.
“Everyone at the club is looking forward to welcoming him to Worcestershire.”
