Though much of the focus ahead of the January transfer window will obviously be on players who Newcastle United could potentially sign, there could be outgoings at the club too.
Last January, of course, saw Miguel Almiron and Lloyd Kelly leave the club.
While the 2026 January transfer window is expected to be busier at Newcastle United in terms of incomings, departures cannot be ruled out either.

Though it’s hard to imagine the club cashing in on another key player following the sale of Alexander Isak in September, there could be exits.
In fact, one potential sale in the form of Jamaal Lascelles would mark the end of an era.
Jamaal Lascelles likely to leave Newcastle United
According to The Daily Mail, Lascelles is likely to leave St James’ Park in January in pursuit of first-team football elsewhere.
Lascelles has only made two appearances since he suffered a serious knee injury in March 2024 but is currently Newcastle’s longest-serving player.
The defender joined the club in 2014 but spent a year on loan at former club Nottingham Forest and has since made 253 appearances for the club.
Lascelles captained the Magpies to the Championship title in 2017 and while he has proven to be an important figure behind the scenes, he looks way down the pecking order these days.
Previously, clubs in Turkish football have expressed an interest in signing Lascelles.

Why Jamaal Lascelles should leave Newcastle United in January
Lascelles was a key part of the Benitez era, while he also played under Steve Bruce.
Though he proved he could still play a part in Newcastle’s present when he marked Kylian Mbappe out of the game when Paris Saint-Germain came to St James’ Park in the Champions League in 2023, he does feel like something of a throwback.
His departure would be emotional. Lascelles was named Newcastle captain in 2016, having emerged as a leader all while Benitez was trying to stave off an eventual relegation.
However, the 31-year-old surely needs to be playing somewhere at this stage of his career, having just returned from a serious injury.
Out of contract this summer anyway, it would make sense to sell him while the club can still get a fee.
