A brand new Spider-Man 4 rumor has surfaced online, teasing the appearance of a familiar Marvel character. Tom Holland‘s highly anticipated Spider-Man: Brand New Day is still slated to arrive in theaters on July 31, 2026, as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe‘s Phase Six.
Who is the potential MCU cameo in Spider-Man 4?
According to insider Daniel Richtman, besides the Punisher and The Hand, Spider-Man: Brand New Day will reportedly feature another key character from Netflix’s Marvel shows. He clarified that it won’t be Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock/Daredevil, leading fans to speculate about the potential appearances of Kingpin, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, or Jessica Jones.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is being directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a screenplay written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. The movie will also feature the return of Emmy winner Zendaya as MJ and Jacob Batalon as Ned. Joining them are Sadie Sink (Stranger Things), Jon Bernthal (Daredevil: Born Again) as Frank Castle/Punisher, Liza Colón-Zayas (The Bear) as Cathy, Michael Mando (Better Call Saul) as Mac Gargan/Scorpion, Marvin Jones III (Black Lightning) as Lonnie Lincoln/Tombstone, and Tramell Tillman (Severance).
Despite initially denying his involvement, set photos eventually confirmed that Avengers vet Mark Ruffalo is indeed reprising his iconic role as Bruce Banner/Hulk in Brand New Day. Previous rumors about Hulk’s potential role in Spider-Man 4 also suggested that the hero might transform into the Savage Hulk, best known as the character’s aggressive and deadly alter-ego. The movie is produced by Kevin Feige, Amy Pascal, Rachel O’Connor, Avi Arad, and Louis D’Esposito.
A recent rumor suggested that Tillman might be playing the new head of the Department of Damage Control. Meanwhile, speculations about Sink’s mysterious character continue to circulate online, with some fans convinced that she may have been cast as the MCU’s Jean Grey after it was recently revealed she’ll also be appearing in Avengers: Secret Wars.
