EastEnders spoilers follow for the latest episode to stream on BBC iPlayer and air on BBC One.

EastEnders revealed this week that mysterious newcomer Jasmine Fisher is indeed Zoe Slater’s daughter, with Zoe unaware that both her babies survived rather than just one. It was also revealed that sinister Anthony Trueman is the father

In tonight’s episode, Jasmine – upset after being rejected by Oscar Branning – wallowed in her misery in the Square gardens, and noticed Zoe struggling with her shopping.

She went over to help, and after initially snapping at her, Zoe noticed Jasmine had been crying and offered to buy her a drink, stating: “It looks like we could both do with one.”

In The Vic, Zoe asked Jasmine if she was spending Christmas with her family, completely unaware of the truth.

They then talked about her break up with Oscar, and Zoe called Jasmine “stunning” and said that Oscar was “punching well above his weight”. She also compared him to his dad Max, who she had her own fling with.

“When I was your age, I used to think the whole world was against me,” Zoe continued. “Little did I realise how much worse it was gonna get. But I see something in ya and I think you’re going to be all right.

“I’m serious, you’ve got something about ya. And behind that bravado, I see a good kid. And I like to think that good things happen to good people. You remind me of myself a bit, and I like to think I’m a good person, despite what people say.”

After Zoe said The Vic was open on Christmas Day so Jasmine could be “an honorary Slater” if she had nowhere else to go, Jasmine asked Zoe if she had any kids.

Obviously that is a touchy subject for Zoe, who still thinks one of her babies died and she has been unsuccessful in tracking down the other, so she lied and said she never wanted any.

“Got enough trouble looking after myself,” she joked, before going to the bar to hide the upset on her face.

Unfortunately for her, she had inadvertently upset Jasmine as well, who quietly snuck away.

Later on, at night time, Jasmine sat alone in the Square. She looked at her hospital tag, labelled ‘Baby Zoe’, before staring menacingly at The Vic.

What has she got planned?

EastEnders airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
