Hull FC saw over a dozen first-team players leave the club during or after the 2025 Super League season. Securing their futures, those players have since signed for Super League rivals and moved down to the Championship, with a couple still free agents. Here they are in full.
Jordan Abdull – The half-back was the first player to leave Hull in 2025, with the club mutually agreeing to terminate his contract back in January following some complicated knee issues. After a full season out of the game, Abdull will play for Championship outfit Widnes Vikings in 2026, signing a one-year deal.
Jordan Rapana – The Kiwi retired from professional rugby league at the end of 2025 but will still play on next year, turning out for his former junior club Currumbin Eagles – a Gold Coast-based outfit who play in a local Brisbane league.
Jordan Lane – The back rower has secured a big move to Castleford Tigers for 2026 and beyond, signing for the West Yorkshire side on a four-year deal. He was one of Hull’s longest-serving players, having debuted back in 2018.
Oliver Holmes – The back rower made just the one appearance for Hull, playing in the Challenge Cup tie against York Acorn. He was forced to retire this summer after chronic knee injuries.
Jack Ashworth – The prop joined Lane in signing for Castleford Tigers for 2026 and beyond after spending two seasons in the black and white.
Will Gardiner – The local prop was one of several end-of-season releases. He has since secured his future at Super League newcomers Bradford Bulls.
Jack Charles – The young half-back is the latest player to cross the city divide, signing for Hull KR for the 2026 season and beyond.
Zach Jebson – The young back-rower has signed for Midlands Hurricanes for 2026. The club will play in an extended Championship competition next year.
Nick Staveley – The forward made his loan spell at Goole Vikings permanent after spending the back end of the season with the East Yorkshire club. Staveley was on loan at Goole from Sheffield Eagles, the club he joined after being released from Hull FC in the spring.
Owen Haldenby – The young prop was released at the end of the 2025 season, with his future yet to be confirmed.
Sam Eseh – The prop returned to parent club Wigan and is now set to fight for his place at the Cherry and Whites following a second loan spell at Hull FC.
Liam Watts – The veteran prop is still a free agent after leaving Hull FC at the end of the season.
Cobie Wainhouse – The young prop joined Hull KR on loan in the summer, making that move permanent for 2026 and beyond.
