Reports this morning suggested that the Blades will look to add a new left winger, with ex-Blue Louie Barry returning to parent club Aston Villa after a frustrating spell at Bramall Lane.

However, McKenna chuckled when the rumour was put to him, replying: ‘No chance.’

Despite the fact that the 25-year-old has primarily been used as a substitute, with just nine of his 22 appearances coming from the start, he’s seen as a key part of Town’s plans going forward, with seven goals and one assist to his name so far this season.

However, it’s understood that Sheffield United are keen on a move for Ipswich’s Harry Clarke, who spent the second half of the 2024/25 campaign on loan with them under Chris Wilder.

The right-back hasn’t featured for the first team this season, having recovered from a knee injury at the start of the campaign.
