This is near the Black Lion Hotel, Llanfair Talhaiarn, following erosion at the River Elwy.
Natural Resources Wales is investigating the incident, and has made Conwy County Borough Council aware of it.
A spokesperson for Natural Resources Wales said: “We have identified active erosion along the River Elwy’s bank near the Black Lion Hotel, Llanfair Talhaiarn.
“To protect public safety, and following discussions with Conwy County Borough Council, the adjacent footpath has been closed due to the risk to pedestrians.
“We are exploring both short-term measures and long-term solutions to reinforce the riverbank and reduce future risks to the footpath and flood embankment.
“In the meantime, inspection frequency within the village has been increased to monitor the situation.
