Kevin Vauquelin should’ve been enjoying deserved rest after a successful Tour de France campaign that saw the Arkéa – B&B Hotels rider finish in an unexpected 7th place overall. But just two days later, news have arrived that the 24-year-old Frenchman has suffered an injury off the bike.”Kevin Vauquelin fractured the distal end of his fibula in a home accident. The duration of his unavailability will be announced at a later date,” announced his team in a brief press release.

With no races on Vauquelin’s schedule at the moment, he was in the mix of riders who could be selected for the home European Championships as well as the World Championships in Kigali. While those are not completely off the table yet, the Frenchman now needs to focus on recovery rather than preparation.

More news about his future races in 2025 should follow when the team gets better idea of convalescence period. And we’ll inform when that happens.
