In August, plans were submitted to the council for an 18-hole adventure golf course to be built in Christchurch Park on the old lawn bowls green.
The plans are yet to be decided upon, due to the ongoing consultation with organisations.
Natural England has said that they have no objection to the plans, with them stating: “Natural England considers that the proposed development will not have significant adverse impacts on statutory protected nature conservation sites or landscapes.”
Soon after plans were submitted, concerns were raised over the noise, the financial viability and the green space it would be situated on.
Friends of Christchurch Park originally objected but after meeting with developers, found that they no longer had issues with the plans. Historic England said the site being reused for another club-based sport would be “broadly appropriate”.
Ipswich Borough Council will discuss the plans in due course.
