Netflix has renewed The Hunting Wives for a second season, with leads Brittany Snow and Malin Akerman reprising their roles.
“Sophie (Snow) and Margo (Akerman) are on the outs,” teases the synopsis. “But soon enough, old secrets and new foes force them back together. As they play their dangerous games, the question arises: Are they the hunters or the hunted?”
Currently, there’s no word on an exact release date, however, the cast and crew have shared their excitement. Back in November, Snow shared a selfie from the set, which she captioned: “Howdy y’all. This ain’t our FIRST rodeo! These aren’t millennial peace signs. It’s the first day of shooting SEASON 2, baby! @thehuntingwives @netflix.”
Likewise, executive producer Rebecca Cutter told Tudum: “I’m so excited to write these amazing characters again, and I can’t wait to take the audience on another sexy, twisted, bat***t crazy ride through Maple Brook.”
Adapted from May Cobb’s bestselling novel of the same name, The Hunting Wives is set in the fictional town of Maple Brook in Texas, with the first season following newcomer Sophie O’Neil, as she and her husband Graham (Evan Jonigkeit) embarked on a fresh start after relocating from Cambridge, Massachusetts.

While adjusting to her new life, Sophie found herself captivated by Margo Banks, a socialite and the wife of her husband’s boss, Jed (Dermot Mulroney). After becoming a part of Margo’s group of friends – nicknamed the Hunting Wives – however, Sophie became embroiled in a dangerous web of lies, obsessions and even murder.
Returning alongside Snow and Akerman, Evan Jonigkeit and Dermot Mulroney will reprise their roles. Jaime Ray Newman and George Ferrier are also back for season two. Meanwhile, a number of newcomers have been added to the cast. Among them is Full House legend, John Stamos, who will appear as Chase Brylan.
Dale Dickey (My Name Is Earl, Breaking Bad), Cam Gigandet (Twilight, Burlesque), Kim Matula (The Bold and the Beautiful) and Alex Fitzalan (The Society) have also signed on.
While The Hunting Wives aired its first season on Netflix in the US, the eight-part drama has since premiered on ITVX in the UK, with episodes dropping on 27 December.
A release date for season two of The Hunting Wives has yet to be announced by Netflix. Season one is streaming on Netflix in the US, while fans in the UK can tune in on ITVX.
