Coronation Street’s David Platt star Jack P Shepherd and his wife, Hanni Treweek, tied in the knot in a romantic ceremony earlier this year

Coronation Street’s Jack P Shepherd has received an outpouring of support from fans following a joint marriage announcement with his wife.
The 37-year-old actor first gained fame when he joined the ITV soap in 2000, at the tender age of 12. He plays David Platt, the mischievous son of Martin Platt, portrayed by Sean Wilson, and Gail, played by Helen Worth.
Throughout the years, David has been involved in numerous major storylines, ranging from nearly killing his mum by pushing her down the stairs to seeking revenge on villain Richard Hillman, and a heart-wrenching suicide plot.
However, off-screen, Jack’s life is worlds apart from his character’s, as he enjoys marital bliss with his wife, Hanni Treweek.

The couple gathered their nearest and dearest for a special ceremony that took place in Manchester earlier this year. The wedding came a year after Jack romantically proposed to Hanni during a dream safari holiday, reports the Daily Star.
The happy couple were joined at the celebration by some of Jack’s current co-stars, including Lucy Fallon, Alan Halsall, Tina O’Brien, and, notably, his former on-screen mother, Helen Worth, as well as some celebrity friends, such as Celebrity Big Brother co-star Chris Hughes.
This Christmas was the first that Jack and Hanni celebrated as husband and wife, and they shared highlights of their festive celebrations on social media.
In one photograph, Jack and Hanni can be seen wearing stunning outfits as they stand before a Christmas tree. Another image shows Hanni displaying her glittering wedding rings.

Hanni wrote alongside the post: “Our first Christmas as Mr and Mrs Shepherd. We hope you all had a magical one.”
The couple’s friends and followers flooded the comments section with messages of congratulations, with one person commenting, “Beautiful photos, beautiful couple.”
Another said: “Power couple (flame emoji)”, whilst a third added: “Looks amazing.”
“Happy Xmas Mr and Mrs Shepherd”, wrote one fan, while another commented: “You both look lush.”

Jack has marked 25 years playing David Platt in Coronation Street. In the ITV soap’s current storyline, David and his wife Shona (Julia Goulding) are expecting their first child together, though they’ve recently been confronted with a devastating choice.
At a routine appointment, Shona and David learnt their unborn daughter has complications, after an ultrasound showed a mass/tumour on the baby’s neck, necessitating high-risk surgery or a termination.
Shona is resolute about having her baby, and the pair are proceeding with the pregnancy. Yet more dramatic scenes are anticipated for the couple as Corrie crosses over with Emmerdale.
In a preview for the special episode, airing on January 5, Shona and expectant Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) from the Dales are shown in distress after a car crash. Will Shona and David be alright?
