Under the Bridge, the true crime drama starring Lily Gladstone and Riley Keough, is currently trending as the second most-watched series on ITVX.
Comprised of eight episodes, the show is based on Rebecca Godfrey’s book of the same name, and recalls the tragic murder of teenager Reena Virk.
On 14 November 1997, a 14-year-old Virk was killed in Saanich, British Columbia, with the case gaining significant media attention in Canada. The series is told from the perspectives of journalist Godfrey (Keough) and local police officer Cam Bentland (Gladstone), as they learn what really happened.
Joining Gladstone and Keough, Vritika Gupta, Chloe Guidry, Javon ‘Wanna’ Walton, Izzy G, and Archie Panjabi are also among the cast.
At the time of writing, the show is ahead of the likes of Karen Pirie and TOWIE and only behind Love Island in ITVX’s ‘Top 10 Most Watched’ chart.

Originally released on Hulu in 2024, Under the Bridge has garnered widespread critical acclaim since its debut. Currently rated Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, the crime drama holds a score of 86%.
“Even the most outrageous crimes can’t be seen as purely black and white, good and evil, given that they’re the product of human behaviour and that humans can be more than one thing at once. That intricacy makes Under the Bridge a compelling watch,” the Toronto Star explained.
“Set in the moody late-’90s Pacific Northwest, this gripping true crime drama pokes at a nerve and won’t let up,” added Common Sense Media.

“Under the Bridge offers an unblinking look at the ways we fail each other and, perhaps more importantly, ourselves,” wrote RogerEbert.com.
Meanwhile, The Financial Times mused: “Judiciously avoiding turning a tragedy into a ghoulish whodunnit, the show establishes what happened fairly early, leaving the far more difficult question of why.”
Revealing what drew her to the series, Keough told The Hollywood Reporter in 2024: “I thought Reena’s story, first and foremost, was a story I wanted to honour. I thought the way they planned to handle her as a character and as a human being was really different to what I’ve seen in the true-crime genre.
All eight episodes of Under the Bridge are now streaming on ITVX.
